The 315 series dry boxes or desiccant cabinets can be used to store objects, parts and materials which are sensitive to moisture. A common application in electronic assembly will be the storage of Moisture Sensitive Devices (MSDs). Trays and reels of MSDs can be stored for extended periods of time in a 5% or less RH atmosphere.
The 315 series boxes feature rigid steel frame, antistatic paint and window construction, 3 adjustable painted shelves, and 2 doors with lockable stored handles.
The digital controls record the temperature and humidity over time and the optional data logger can be used to transmit that information to the data reader and PC running the management software. The base unit includes RS232 for communication between the dry box and PC.
The basic 315 dries the contacts with 3 desiccant units, while the 315QD adds a QD high speed drying unit, recommended for applications where the doors will be opened and closed frequently.
The model 157 is a half size model of the 315. The unit is complete with a single lockable door, anti-static finish, circulation fan, 3 adjustable shelves. The 157 is available with the standard Management Software for RS232 communication to a PC, and optional software for use with the data logger and reader. Many of the options available on the 315 are available on the 157.
The model 72QD dry box has more than twice the capacity of the 315. The unit comes standard with the QD (Quick Dry) module so that the humidity in the box can be maintained at 5% RH or less.
The Quick Dry module is particularly effective in applications where the dry box is used frequently and the door is opened and closed several times an hour. The QD will bring the RH level down much faster than desiccant can do alone.
